Client story

From no website to a fully booked yoga school

Danny and Henrik were starting One Yoga, a 200-hour yoga teacher training on Koh Phangan, Thailand. Their first course date was set and they had no website. In 2018 we built it with them and helped them decide what to say to students who had never met them. Within a year and a half they had full courses and their own resort.

Where they started

A course date, and no website

The school was a plan and a date. Students would be booking four weeks on an island with teachers they had never met, so the site had to show who Danny and Henrik are before it asked for anything. Everything below is the site as we built it in 2018; their site today is a different design.

The homepage

Who they are, before what they sell

The homepage opens on real graduates holding their certificates. Then a short introduction to the school, and a few lines that let a student picture the month before any price.

A little about us: the One Yoga logo and a short introduction to the school and its teachers.
Just imagine: a few lines describing a day at the training, with a Continue your journey button.
Our students are diving into the unknown. They don't know us.

Step 1 · A small first yes

A free guide before a four-week course

Not every visitor is ready to book a month away. So the site offered a free guide on how to find the best yoga teacher training, for a name and an email.

Step 2 · Trust before they book

Faces, names, and ten reasons to join

Every teacher with a photo and a name, the reasons to choose One Yoga in ten simple icons, and the Yoga Alliance RYS 200 badge where students look for it.

The Team: eight round photos with names and roles, including co-founders Danny and Henrik.
Reasons to join us: ten line icons, from experienced teachers and a tropical island to the RYS 200 Yoga Alliance registration.
The day after we put it online, we had our first sign-up. We were blown away.

Step 3 · The course itself

A month in paradise, shown before it's sold

The 200-hour training explained in plain words, then the place: the shala, the beaches, the food.

Two rows of photos: the open-air yoga shala, the sea view, the gardens, a bungalow and a plate of fresh food.
We started our first training with 12 students, which wasn't bad for a brand-new school. Then 18, then 20, and then we were fully booked.

In their words

“When we came to you, we were really pressed for time. Our first teacher training date was already set, and we needed a website fast.

You didn't just make the website look good. You helped us think about our marketing: how to approach people, and what we wanted to say to them. We tended to write too much, and you got us going in the right direction.

The day after we put it online, we had our first sign-up. We were blown away.

Dan isn't only a web designer. He thinks strategically about the content, and he's good with the technical side too.

At first I thought a website was just something you need to look impressive. Now I realise it's not only the design, it's the whole strategy behind the marketing.”
